Dr Bridgette McKelvey is an award-winning visual artist, designer, writer, photographer, filmmaker and educator. 

NZ/ Polynesian roots shape a beach obsession and collaborative sharing of traditional practices. Works share stories of Australian identity, social justice, ecology and animals for change outcomes.



Bridgette has delivered successive high-impact projects for government, and lectured/ coordinated Creative Industries programs and workshops for QUT, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University and Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre. PhD Shadows' shark images were presented to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2012.
